The company has operated in the UK and Ireland for 25 years. It originated in 1983 as First Software, and changed its name to Frontline Distribution Limited in 1988. This company was subsequently acquired by Europe’s leading distributor, Munich-based Computer 2000 A.G. In 1998, Tech Data acquired Computer 2000 to form one of the largest and most influential IT wholesale distributors worldwide. 

The UK’s largest trade-only distributor of IT products, we employ around 550 people, supply over 10,000 customers, work with the leading vendors of IT products (HP, Microsoft and Cisco, to name a few), and distribute over 30,000 products. 

Our focus is not only on developing our core business, Computer 2000, but also on the growth of our collection of specialists businesses. These include our Audio Visual specialist division Maverick, our Design software division Datech and our network and infrastructure business Azlan. We also have a Mobility joint venture with fellow distributor Brightstar.

We may not be a household name – but by rights we should be. After all, our parent company, Tech Data, has higher revenues than Nike and Amazon, and we are placed 105th in the Fortune 500, higher than global brands like McDonalds. What’s more, we’ve been voted No.1 in our industry for the last 10 consecutive years
